Falulu is a mysterious vocal doll who appears in episode 1 and later makes her debut as an idol in episode 17.

At the beginning of the series, she is very naive and doesn't know a lot of words so she tends to repeat the words and actions of others (even copies Laala's and Mirei's catchphrases and actions). Her voice sounds slightly robotic, and she tends to call certain things (like the Prism Voice and Laala) sparkling.

Despite not knowing what emotions are, she still expresses anger, fear and happiness. She is also very smart, being able to solve long equation problems within seconds.

Episode 37 spoilers
~!After her re-awakening in Episode 37, Falulu's personality becomes much more human-like and vivacious and her speaking voice, as well as her singing voice, loses its robotic quality.

 She also became more responsible and worrisome since she now has 100 little sisters to watch over.!~

The anime is set in the PriPara world, filled with girls' dreams and yearnings for fashion, dance, and music. Seemingly every day, there are auditions that send top idols to worldwide fame on television and online. Laala and her friends are all fascinated with this world. However, Laala's school prohibits PuriPara for elementary school children. An unexpected chance leads Laala to make her first entrance into the world of PriPara, where she just might make her debut.

In season two of PriPara the story continues with Laala and her friends Mirei and Sophy, who are part of the "SoLaMi♡SMILE" PriPara idol unit, which is rising in popularity. In the PriPara amusement park, a new zone called "Dream Theater" has opened, and it's said that when a fateful five-man team filled with charm that performs there, a new event called the "PriPara Dream Parade" will be held. However, it is not known which five people make up this team, and the PriPara idols scramble give the greatest performance in the new zone.

One day, a huge UFO appeared in the sky above the town of Parajuku, and glittering jewels sprinkled down from the sky. Now it's been decided that the Idol God Grand Prix will take place at Parajuku’s PriPara and the PriPara system has been updated. Around this time, Laala meets a mysterious baby that fell from the sky. This baby calls Laala ‘Mama’ and refuses to leave her side, so Laala ends up taking care of the child, but what will happen now?!

Falulu is far away in the heart of the PriPara world in Puransu. The sparkle is disappearing from the idol sacred ground PriPara, and Falulu sends an SOS message to Laala and her friends. If the sparkle doesn't return, the PriPara world itself will disappear. Laala and her friends try to help Falulu, and they work together to save the PriPara world.

The new Pri☆Chan Land amusement park has opened near the Prism Stone shop. It is a semi-virtual world where the mascots of idol teams come to life, and even perform as idols themselves. Park manager Meganii announces the Illuminage tournament, where idols compete to become princesses of each area of Pri☆Chan Land, and at the finale one team will be chosen as Illuminage Queens. With the help of their mascots, Miracle☆Kiratts, Meltic StAr and other teams compete to become the Illuminage Queens.

Laala Manaka is a 5th-grader at Paprika Academy. Like most girls, she admires the world of PriPara, a sport that tests idol girls on song, dance, and fashion. Unfortunately for her, her school does not allow elementary school students to participate in PriPara. However, through miraculous circumstances, Laala passes the audition to become a PriPara idol.

The story focuses on Yui, a girl who lives in the town of Paparajuku, and who dreams of being an idol, even if she realizes that being an idol is next to impossible for her. Her friends often remark on how much she dreams about it. But then, the PriPara idol theme park opens in her town, and that an idol named Laala is coming to town from Parajuku, which only makes Yui dream even bigger. The new PriPara theme park has been updated with new concepts. However, due to a system error, Laala is no longer able to PriPara Change.

PriPara Movie: Minna Atsumare! Prism☆Tours is the film based on and starring the characters from PriPara. The film first began showing in theaters across Japan from March 7th, 2015. The plot focuses on Laala Manaka finding out about Saints' top idol journey, and aside from the PriPara performances, the movie also features the journey of characters across all the Pretty Rhythm series.

At some point in the movie, the characters are given a choice of four doors to go through. At this point, the movie diverges into one of 4 routes depending on what the audience chooses. Each route recaps different aspects of the previous Pretty Rhythm series, mainly reintroducing the different characters and their performances. However, Laala and friends only get a chance to enter one door at a time, meaning the film must be watched four times to view each door choice.
