Megumi Yokota was born on October 15, 1964 in Japan.    When she was 13 years old she was abducted by North Korean spies, to allegedly help North Korean spies become &quot;Japanese.&quot;     Megumi married a South  Korean man in 1986 and had a daughter a year later.  North Korea and her husband claim Megumi committed suicide in 1994, but a DNA test disproved the remains delivered were that of Megumi&#039;s.      Her parent&#039;s Sakie Yokota and Shigeru Yokota still hold out hope to this day that their daughter is alive and will come home.

Megumi Yokota was abducted by North Korea in 1977 when she was 13 years old. North Korea acknowledges abducting her and at least 12 other Japanese residents during the 1970s and the 1980s, but the country has not provided any conclusive evidence on her fate and most of the others.
