The 15th Hierarchical City of Torifune is best known as the Military Academy for the NOL. There, future librarians train and hone their skills for whatever challenges may await them outside. The story centers around Mai Natsume, a girl who had just arrived late due to a week absence, but there seems to be several phenomenons centering around her that could be more than just coincidence.

A sequel under the name BlazBlue: Official Comics Vol. 2 was released in 2010 to promote BlazBlue: Continuum Shift.

After the "Ikaruga Civil War," Mai Natsume and her friends are continuing their studies in the NOL Military Academy. They are all called to help in the preparations of Jin Kisaragi's promotion celebration. However, Mai gets caught up in a plot of the NOL's infamous Zero Squadron.

The story is set in December of 2199, when the streets are full of anticipation for the end of the year and the start of the new one. Amid the celebrations, word spreads that Ragna the Bloodedge, an SS-class rebel with the highest ever bounty on his head, has appeared in the 13th Hierarchical City of Kagutsuchi. The apparent aim of Ragna or the "Grim Reaper" is the destruction of the system controlling the world. To collect the bounty, a motley array of unrivaled fighters converge on Kagutsuchi.<br><br>
