A collection of Rumiko Takahashi's early short stories and one-shots, featuring everything from lesser-known works to fan favorites with OVA adaptations.
 
 
Originally released as the three-volume Rumic World, this collection was re-released in two larger volumes in 1995 as Takahashi Rumiko Kessaku Tanpenshuu (高橋留美子傑作短編集, lit. “Rumiko Takahashi Short Story Masterpiece Collection”), and was translated into English as Rumic World Trilogy in 1997.
 
 
Below is a list of the short stories included. The first number is the volume of the original Japanese Rumic World that contains the story, the second number is the volume of Takahashi Rumiko Kessaku Tanpenshuu, and the third number is the volume of Viz Media's English Rumic World Trilogy.

It was just another ordinary afternoon for our heroine Suzuko when she suddenly got caught in a giant gas explosion. Instead of getting killed, Suzuko wakes up some 500 years in the past during the Civil War era of Japan. 
After being saved from a fate worse than death by a handsome, somewhat overbearing young man, Suzuko learns to adapt to the strange realm where she now resides. Along the way, Suzuko finds out more about her mysterious and spotty past. As clues begin to click into place, though, the village is attacked, and Suzuko finds herself travelling through time AGAIN, this time to the present. Will she solve the mystery regarding her origin and where she belongs?

Yuzuru was an average teenager who had almost forgotten that he was betrothed to Azusa when he was only 6! Every mission she's assigned to by the Inter-Galactic Space Patrol becomes a cash-drain when all the damages are docked from her wage. 
But when she's selected to rescue the rich and sexy Kogane Maru it's like a dream come true. After setting him free from the terror of his ruthless kidnapper his eternal gratitude will surely guarantee marriage &mdash;and an end to all her financial headaches.
