When three Digimon fans -- Rika, Henry, and our lead Takato -- suddenly find themselves with "real" Digimon, they discover a living creature under your care is far harder to deal with than a few pixels on your TV screen. The kids try to be Digimon 'Tamers,' aka Digimon caretakers, but they all seem to have different opinions on what that should entail. Rika thinks Digimon should fight, Henry thinks they should never fight, and Takato ... seems to be somewhere in the middle. 
Being a Tamer isn't just about believing one thing or another. It's about learning and adjusting for the good of everyone else. But they have a long way to go, and their problems are just beginning.

Takato Matsuda, Ruki Matsuno, and Lee Jenrya are children who have, by fate, received real Digimon, unlike the imaginary ones in the card game they play. Each of the children, or "Digimon Tamers", have their different views on how Digimon should be treated. But when other Digimon begin to appear around Japan, they must put aside their differences to fend off the digital intruders; even though Yamaki, who is the head of a secret organization called Hypnos is trying to eliminate all of the Digimon himself.

Prequel to Digimon Tamers that describes the creation of the Digimon by the Wild Bunch at Palo Alto University. 
Mostly deriving from the perspective of Daisy, the story begins with her meeting Jianyu Li, a student from Hong Kong, at the university for the first time, who invites her to Professor Rob McCoy's lab, where the other Wild Bunch members are gathered. There, they gradually help with the creation of a parallel world inside a computer network, inhabited by digital monsters. Dolphin asks for the help of his 10 year old gamer son, Keith, who eventually creates the rudimentary beings and organizes them by various criteria: abilities, power level, etc.

Seven kids at summer camp are unexpectedly transported by 'digi-vices' to a colorful and enigmatic world. Lost and alone, they are befriended by small digital monsters, Digimons. The kids and their Digimon partners quickly become inseparable, and the strange creatures guide their human friends through the wondrous DigiWorld, protecting them from the hordes of evil Digimons. The group soon discovers that some of the giant Digimons they encounter are not evil Digimons but good Digimons gone bad. A dark power is corrupting even the most gentle of Digimons by embedding Black Gears into them, turning them into vicious monsters. Creating chaos and destruction wherever it goes, the evil power threatens all of DigiWorld. 
As they try to find their way back home, the seven kids are drawn further and further into the mystery. Through teamwork and trust, they help their newfound Digimon friends digivolve from 'monsters in training' to giant champions that must save the DigiWorld from the powerful evil intent on destroying it.
