Middle school 2nd year, Amano Yukiteru, is a boy who has problem making friends. He thinks of himself as a bystander and will always write down everything he sees in a cell phone diary. 
Tormented by solitude, Yukiteru began to imagine things like a friend called Deus Ex Machina who is apparently the Lord of Time &amp; Space. Seeing Yukiteru's miserable state, Deus gives him a new ability. His diary will now record events that will happen in the near future. Yukiteru is then forced to participate in a game which the winner will become Deus's successor.

This psychological thriller, based on the manga written and illustrated by Sakae Esuno, is about Yuki, a loner who's not very good with people. He prefers to write a diary on his cell phone and talk to his imaginary friend, Deus Ex Machina &ndash; The God of Time and Space. However, Yuki soon learns that Deus is more than a figment of his imagination when he makes Yuki participate in a battle royale with eleven others. The contestants are given special diaries that can predict the future, each diary possessing unique features that give it both advantages and disadvantages. Within the next 90 days, the contestants must try to survive until there is only one left standing. The winner will become the new God of Time and Space.

A story that picks up after the first story ends. It tells the tale of the 3rd Universe's Gasai Yuno after her encounter with the Yukiteru and Yuno of the other universes. Her life seems normal, but something feels like it is missing. She can't help being fascinated with the boy in her grade, Amano Yukiteru, because he keeps appearing in her dreams...

In a parallel world where the strongest of the non-diary holders, "Akise Aru" takes the place of Yukiteru for a few days, what will happen?
