Hirose Itsuki is a high school girl who doesn't like to have unrealistic hopes or dreams, afraid of getting hurt. One day, Hino, the school's star basketball player, forced to the sidelines because of an injury, asks her, "Do you know any good ways to pass the time?"  They begin to study together and gradually become close, but when Itsuki hears Hino's true feelings in a moment of weakness, she runs away and they grow apart. After many months, they finally meet again, as new medical students at the same university…
