Prince Ousu (later Yamato Takeru), who has been on an expedition to Nukuni in his father's name, is troubled by a nearby bandit, Kawakami Takeru, and his attempt to capture a fortress.

However, when he meets his daughter, Shikabun, he borrows her costume and attempts to infiltrate the fort...

 This story is set in the ancient times of Emperor Suinin (around 29 BC–AD 70). The story opens with the mythical wrestling match ordered by the Emperor, between Nomi no Sukune and Taima no Kehaya. This match is recorded in the "Nihon Shoki," one of the writings that compose the Kiki legends. Within this story, the match is ordered to determine ownership of a specific piece of land. After the match, the story continues with the effects of the outcome on those involved, such as the surviving combatant, the Emperor, the people of Izumo, and the loser's son Isachi.
