Yukinari Ookido is a Pokémon Professor and a major supporting character of the Pocket Monsters anime who lives and works at his research lab in Masara Town. He appears semi-regularly to give Satoshi advice to help him achieve his goal of becoming the greatest Pokémon Master.

He is the father to Koharu. He later trained Tamasaburo to become his successor.

He is one of the three Transformation Masters from Shikoku Island. He was brought to Tama Hills, along with Inugami Gyoubu and Kinchou Daimyoujin VI , at the behest of the messenger Tamasaburo. He and the other masters pledged to help the tanuki by launching Operation Specter, and scaring the humans away from the development.

As the owner of the strange "Cat Bureau", he is known as helper to all. He is an artisan's statue that somehow has been brought to life.
