Naru starts the series as Usagi's best friend in school. Her mother owns a jewelry shop and she is the victim of several attacks by Youma.

Queen Metaria is a malignant, amorphous energy being, similar to the depersonalized Japanese god of evil Amatsu-Mikaboshi. She was born as a result of radioactivity in the sun and is the true mastermind behind the Dark Kingdom. Like all arch-villains in the Sailor Moon manga, she is an incarnation of the final arch-villain, Chaos. Her name is sometimes romanized as Metallia, but later editions of the manga included the author's preferred spelling of Metaria. She is called Metalia in the anime.    In the manga, when Prince Endymion and Princess Serenity were to be wed, Metaria took advantage of those on Earth who despised the union. Such a person was Beryl, whose affections for Endymion were preyed on by Metaria. After the war, Metaria was sealed at the North Pole and placed in suspended animation.  In the 20th century, Metaria manages to return a reborn Beryl to her service and orders her to find the Silver Crystal so it may be used to free Metaria. After Endymion's reincarnated form is captured, Metaria enters the young man's body to use him as a suitable host, letting Beryl die in battle. After Sailor Moon is forced to kill Endymion, Metaria is freed to resume her evil. She is eventually destroyed by Sailor Moon.    In the anime Metaria is much the same, with a few exceptions. She eventually becomes powerful enough to resurrect on her own and then took possession of the dying Beryl, transforming into a towering goddess like creature.    In the English dub of the anime, she is referred to only as the Negaforce, a combination of Negative and Force. This dark lord (or lady) is a god/demon-like creature to the peoples of the Negaverse, and though it is the supreme being of its dimension, and thus not beholden to any being from the human dimension, not even Chaos, her/its role is greatly downplayed. Unlike Metaria, she seems never to have been sealed away and she seems to have always been a faceless diabolic force, content to have Beryl do the actual work.

Yasha was a Youma owned by Zoisite. She was sent to spy on Nephrite and steal the Silver Crystal if Nephrite was able to obtain it.

Grape, Suzuran, and Housenka are a trio of youma under the control of Zoisite in episode 024 (Naru-chan&#039;s Tears! The Death of Nephrite for Love). Zoisite enlists their help to get the Kurozuishou from Nephrite. In order to do this, they kidnap Naru Osaka, with whom Nephrite is in love, and leave a note for Nephrite telling him that he can exchange the Kurozuishou for the girl. They take her to an abandoned night club called Rag Time, and Nephrite follows. Once he arrives, Suzuran and Grape immediately begin to attack him, but he knocks them away. Housenka then attacks, but Nephrite draws a sword on her and tells her that he will never give the Kurozuishou to them. He then manages to free Naru and carry her away. The youma eventually find Nephrite and Naru again, and attack the pair. Nephrite pushes Naru out of the way, and several huge thorns pierce his right shoulder. Suzuran and Housenka appear, and Grape tells Nephrite that the thorns will keep drawing out his energy until he finally dies. They then tell him to hand over the Kurozuishou or they will kill Naru. He finally agrees to hand it over, and tells Naru to run away quickly. She refuses to run away, and runs to him to attempt to pull out the thorns. He tells her to stop and leave, but she does manage to pull one of the thorns out. This infuriates Grape, who attacks the pair with a huge burst of energy, causing a large explosion. The Kurozuishou hits the ground at their feet. Nephrite protects Naru from the explosion, bringing him even closer to death. Zoisite appears in the sky and collects the Kurozuishou, then tells Nephrite that he should be happy to die with the girl he loves. Zoisite then instructs the youma to &quot;have plenty of fun&quot; with the couple. Nephrite is extremely angry at Zoisite&#039;s cowardly behavior, and he tells Naru to run away. Just as the youma are about to attack the couple again, the Sailor Senshi appear and confront the them. The youma quickly attack, but Sailor Mercury uses her Sab&atilde;o Spray attack to stop the youma&#039;s attack in mid-air. Sailor Moon and Sailor Mars combine their &quot;Moon Tiara Action&quot; and &quot;Fire Soul&quot; attacks to destroy the three youma with a flaming tiara.    Grape had black eyes, red and dark purple hair, and chalk white skin, and she wore a yellow suit. Her seiyuu was Sanae Takagi. Housenka had black eyes, light brown hair, and chalk white skin, and she wore a light purple suit. Her seiyuu was Chie Satou. Suzuran had dark blue/black hair, black eyes, and chalk white skin, and she wore a pale green suit. Green Esmeraude (known as Emerald in the English dub) is the second of the Black Moon Clan to appear. She is a selfish and vain woman who tries to emanate a goddess-like appearance by wearing an elegant, tight-fitting dress along with opera-length gloves and knee-high stiletto boots. She has a very distinctive laugh that is extremely loud and piercing, and is generally the most comedic member of the Black Moon.    In the anime, Esmeraude is the successor to Rubeus, deliberately passing up the chance to save his life from an exploding spaceship. She is completely infatuated with Prince Demand, who is obsessed with Sailor Moon. Consumed by her jealousy and greed, Esmeraude goes to Wiseman with the desire to have Demand and ruin Sailor Moon. He presents her with a magical tiara which, he claims, will make her the queen of Neo-Tokyo. Suspecting a catch, she accepts the gift and is instantly transformed into a 'queen'. Her power increases and she believes Demand will be all hers. She then becomes overwhelmed by the dark powers and changes into an evil dragon. She immediately proceeds to attack the Crystal Palace while the Sailor Senshi face her, unaware that the monster is Esmeraude. She attacks, but at the last moment, Sailor Moon fires an attack at the dragon, defeating it. Esmeraude briefly reappears as the queen she wanted to be, surrounded by a heavenly glow, but a dark void opens up underneath her. Unable to save herself, Esmeraude slips into the dark vortex, and vanishes into nothingness while reaching her hand outward. She whispers Demand's name after her disappearance.    In the manga, Esmeraude's obsession with Demand still exists. After failing to kill the Sailor Senshi using her subordinates Chiral and Achiral, she attacks Chibiusa in the 30th century, after taking off her gloves to reveal her monster-like hands. After trying to strangle Chibiusa, she is briefly stopped by Sailor Venus. Sailor Moon attempts to use Moon Princess Halation on Esmeraude, but it doesn't work. Esmeraude then proceeds to use her now multiple hands to strangle Sailor Moon, Sailor Venus, and Tuxedo Mask. When King Endymion's spirit appears behind Tuxedo Mask, allowing him to use Tuxedo La Smoking Bomber, Tuxedo Mask uses his new power to kill Esmeraude, freeing the other two Sailor Senshi.

Unazuki Furuhata (古幡宇奈月, Furuhata Unazuki), known in the English anime as Elizabeth Hansford (Lizzie), is the sister of Motoki Furuhata. She first appears in episode 69 of the anime and is mistaken as a rival love interest for Mamoru Chiba.    She works as a waitress at the Crown Fruit Parlor, where the Sailor Senshi spend much of their free time in the latter parts of the anime. During the SuperS arc of the anime, this restaurant replaces the arcade and Rei&#039;s shrine as the usual location of gatherings between the main characters. Unazuki attends T*A Private Girls School with Rei Hino.    Unazuki appears for the second time in episode 94 of Sailor Moon S, dreaming of her first kiss (which results in being targeted by Professor Tomoe), and again in Sailor Moon SuperS. where she reappears as a major supporting character and is usually among Usagi&#039;s group. She becomes a target of the Amazon Trio in one episode.
