He sees the idea of the school as just another task or a mission and tries to perform it without getting emotionally involved. He enjoys moon gazing, being god of the Moon. He has a rabbit familiar called Usamaro, named by Takeru. It is also mentioned he has other unnamed rabbit familiars. His limiter is an amethyst bracelet on his right hand.

Hiro was known as a prodigy Parasite with the codename "016" of Thirteenth Plantation, where he's partnered in a boy-girl pair with Zero Two to pilot a FRANXX called Strelizia.



He is the main protagonist of the anime and web manga series. He is in Nanba Prison on larceny charges. He is a skilled escape artist, that specializes in locks.

~!While his background has not been fully explored, it is shown in a flashback that as a baby he was born in a prison and he even states he feels most at home in prisons. He is also stated to have been arrested for larceny charges, but escaped the same day and has been arrested and escaped prisons the most out of his friends and is described by Hajime Sugoroku as the type of person who deserves to be in Nanba Prison in contrast to his friends, whom he describes as simple minded idiots. In addition, Jyugo mentions that he is a lifelong prisoner. He seems to have met each of his friends independently in different prisons, and it is him who brings them all together when they end up running into each other in Las Vegas.

In the past while in a prison, someone placed shackles on him that no one, not even himself, could remove. He only remembers that it was a prison guard with a scar on the back of his neck and has been searching every prison in the world to find him so he can get him to remove the shackles that prevent him from obtaining freedom. At some point, he was roomed with a violent cellmate whose eyes he ripped out. The main reason he keeps trying to escape prison is to purposely extend his sentence, so he can stay at Nanba Prison as long as possible, for it is the only prison he hasn't checked yet for the scarred prison guard.!~

Tamaki is extremely shy, aloof, depressed, "intimidating", and introverted, especially around big audiences. He gets nervous very easily when talking to other people. If his anxiety gets the best of him, Tamaki will often face away and lean into a wall to hide his face from others. While his physical abilities and Quirk are outstanding, Tamaki is socially awkward and lacks confidence in his powers. Despite his timid heart, Tamaki can show flashes of bravery. Even though he's always been a shy and reserved boy, Tamaki was able to hone his skills and climb the ranks into one of U.A.'s Big 3. Mirio Togata is a big inspiration for Tamaki.

Tamaki's Quirk Manifest grants him the ability to manifest the physical characteristics of anything he's eaten; for example, if he eats takoyaki, he can transform his fingers into octopus tentacles. Additionally, anything Tamaki manifests is significantly stronger than normal. The more of a substance Tamaki eats, the stronger his manifestation will be. He can only manifest the traits of substances still in his system and loses access to those traits once the substance is fully digested. He must resupply his Quirk daily and decide what foods to eat beforehand.

Minato Narumiya is the protagonist of the series. He is a first-year at Kazemai High School where he is a member of the kyudo club.

Minato is a reserved and withdrawn person, which resulted from after his accident in sixth grade and his target panic incident at his last middle school tournament. He is serious and responsible, always doing his chores and cleaning the school kyudojo proactively. His seriousness often causes him to get flustered by more cheerful individuals like [Nanao](https://anilist.co/character/128275/) and [Ryouhei](https://anilist.co/character/128277/).

Despite seeming calm and indifferent, Minato has a deep passion for kyudo and is extremely loyal to his friends. He is earnest about the things he wants to do, such as improving at kyudo. Ryouhei has noted that he seemed like a "wild child" as he doesn't mind running on snow-covered roads or doesn’t get a cold when he was wading through a cold river. He has a sarcastic side to him when it comes to dealing with more eccentric people, such as [Masaki](https://anilist.co/character/128729/). He is also prone to having an overactive imagination and believing scary stories.

Jirō Jō is a 1st-year economics student at Kansei University. He is the younger twin brother of Tarō Jō. He is a resident of room 201 at Chikuseisou. Joji has a yellow spiky hair. He is often seen wearing a necklace and a long sleeve shirt underneath a yellow shirt and shorts. He and his brother played soccer for three years in high school. The only two things he knows how to cook is pasta and a simple ochazuke. Originally intending to run for the sake of becoming popular with girls, he realize that running was something enjoyable in itself.
