She was born with severe birth defects confining her to a hospital since birth, Rico's parents signed her over to the SWA on her eleventh birthday, where she was given a new lease on life due to her cybernetic operation. Rico loves her new body and life at the SWA, viewing each day as a blessing. She maintains a happy disposition, despite her treatment as a machine by her handler, Jean. Rico is only one who clearly remembers her past: that she was in a hospital, that her parents fought, and where her father works.

A female orca, dwells in the waters that surround the island. Though she does not speak, Suzu seems able to communicate with her. Sashimi&#039;s duty is to stop those who wander too close to the dangerous whirlpools that surround Airan.

Tsukasa is a second-year student and one of Sayuri&#039;s closest friends who hangs out with her and Mina constantly. Being a fate-believer, she ran into Riku one day and started their relationship on the spot, careless to Riku&#039;s decision and feelings. Much like Sayuri, she also has several of male admirers at the school who like to cheer for her when she is playing volleyball.

In December 2007, she changed her name from Yukako Yoshikawa (吉川 友佳子) to Anri Shiono.
