Considered to be the strongest Captain in the Gotei 13, Yamamoto is depicted as an old man with a long beard. There are many scars on his torso and head, suggesting numerous battles in his past. He wears the standard Shinigami Captain uniform, but its size is greatly exaggerated. He also drapes his haori over his back instead of actually wearing it. Despite his old age, he has a very muscular body. As the general of Gotei 13, Yamamoto is highly respected by many Shinigami, most notably Komamura Sajin, who views Yamamoto as a benefactor who saved his life. He has a fiery temper, and like fellow Captains Byakuya Kuchiki and Soi Fon, he believes that laws must be executed for the benefit of the community and despises those who break the rules. General Yamamoto founded the Shinigami Academy about 2000 years before the main Bleach storyline. Yamamoto was himself a teacher at this academy, and personally instructed Kyouraku and Ukitake. He admits to being rather proud of Ukitake and Kyouraku. When they became Captains, he &quot;boasted about them as though they were his own sons.&quot; It has been revealed that he had ordered Urahara Kisuke to stabilize the Garganta gate so that Captains can pass through, and has sent 4 Captains so far to back up Ichigo&#039;s team.    Yamamoto&#039;s Zanpakutou is Ryuujin Jakka (Flowing Blade like Flame, Viz: Flowing Flame Blade). It is the oldest and most powerful fire-based Zanpakutou, and has greater attack power than all other Zanpakutou in the Soul Society. In sealed form, it is disguised as Yamamoto&#039;s staff, which disintegrates into a sword on command. Its Shikai command is &quot;reduce the whole of creation to smoldering ashes&quot;. When released, Ryuujin Jakka and the area around Yamamoto is consumed in flame. The sheer power of the flame can disintegrate almost anything the sword is waved at. Only powerful fighters such as Kyouraku and Ukitake can resist it. Even in its Shikai, Ryuujin Jakka&#039;s power is enough to fight against two other Captains&#039; Shikai simultaneously. His abilities as a Shinigami are no doubt powerful, as he was able to bring 8th Division Lieutenant Nanao Ise to her knees and immobilize her by looking at her and releasing his spiritual pressure. He was also able to fight on par with two of the most powerful Captains, Shunsui Kyouraku and Jūshirō Ukitake, for a decent period of time without any sign of injury, while they both came away with minor wounds.

The commander of the eastern headquarters and grandfather of Riza Hawkeye. As he is not under the constant surveillance of the Humonculi, he aids Mustang in trying to topple the Humonculi controlled government, but seems to do so strictly out of personal ambition.

Head of one of the Three Families, and the official village chief of Hinamizawa. He seems to be a kindly old man, but is vehement in his hatred for Hinamizawa's enemies. His position as chief is largely symbolic as Oryou Sonozaki holds power over most of Hinamizawa. ~! As this includes Satoshi and the rest of the Hojo family, he is killed by Shion in Watanagashi-hen and Meakashi-hen. !~ ~!In Tatarigoroshi-hen, it is revealed that he became Rika's legal guardian sometime after her parents' death in 1981.!~

Alvin was a grumpy, old man who was trying to live out the rest of his life in peace by himself at his cottage located somewhere in a valley. One day he discovers Byonko who asks him to join him in his fight fo king, however he declines which makes Byonko very upset. He is intrigued by the four leaf clover on Byonko's head calling it a "salad," and picks one of the leaves turning it permanently into a three leaf clover as a result Byonko gets more upset and cries even more.

Polt is the mechanic of the space transport The Orion. He's caught up in trouble when the escaped prisoners hijack the ship and kill the crewmates, only to be sucked through a gravity storm, finding themselves near the same planet Luna and the rest are. He takes a particular liking to [Shingo](https://anilist.co/character/6349/Shingo) as they are both mechanically inclined.

~!Polt assists Shingo and the rest in defeating the escapees by installing their gyrostabilizer in The Orion to leave the planet, but are unsuccessful as the escapees catch up. When the ship starts to catch on fire and explode, the children evacuate and Polt escapes with a parachute, with the escapees left on the ship to collide with the ancient ruins, killing them all. Polt is injured by his landing but spends his remaining time helping the children reconstruct the ship to head for the main computer.

He dies one day before the flight and is buried near Everyone’s House. The ship is named The Orion by [Sharla](https://anilist.co/character/6347/Sharla) in his legacy, and Shingo promises to find Porte’s son.!~

Toto is Kohza's father and the only man left living in the deserted city of Yuba. His name is spelled "Tutu" in the 4kids English version of the anime. Originally, Toto was a relatively fat but healthy looking old man. However due to the three year drought brought about by Crocodile's scheme, Toto body had completely shriveled up from thirst and starvation to a point that he no longer resembled his former self.
