Hatchan (はっちゃん, Hacchan, called "Hachi" (ハチ) by most characters) is an octopus fish-man. Hatchan is not very bright but a skilled swordsman, using rokutōryū ("six sword style"). Outside of battle, he is extremely helpful and friendly (though it should be noted that he can be just as cruel to humans as the other crew members are), addressing Zoro politely when they first met, and giving him a ride of a bay on his back. Later in the manga (in a title page arc that was never animated), Hatchan goes on many adventures, meeting a mermaid, that ends with him opening a floating takoyaki restaurant. In Hatchan's Sea-Floor Stroll, it's revealed that Hatchan, along with Chu and Kuroobi, planned to open a takoyaki store when they were younger. 

His nickname Hachi could also mean eight in Japanese, a reference to him being an octopus fish-man. Hatchan's name is quite strange. In the Japanese language, chan is a diminutive suffix, added to the end of someone's name, giving it the meaning of "cute" or "little". However, Hatchan insists that his name is Hatchan and that Hachi is just a nickname. When questioned on this, Oda replied that the chan is the same as the last name of "Chan" common in Chinese, rather than the suffix -chan.   

Gold Roger was known as the Pirate King, the strongest and most infamous being to have sailed the Grand Line. The capture and death of Roger by the World Government brought a change throughout the world. His last words before his death revealed the location of the greatest treasure in the world, One Piece. George Edmond Manley is an American voice artist, adaptation writer, novelist and screenplay writer. He attended San Jose State University, majoring in theatre arts, University of Nevada, Reno, majoring in journalism and holds his associate of science degree in Computer Information Systems from Morrision University and trained at San Francisco's Voice One Studio and with Braintracks Audio's Nancy Wolfson in commercial and character voiceover.    Manley has performed voice work for several ADV Films productions, including Francesco in the second volume of Noir; Impact, the giant robot in Legend of the Mystical Ninja; Hyugi Zeravire from Super Heavyweight God Gravion Zwei; Barba from Hakugei: Legend of The Moby Dick; and the English-language narrator for Kagaku Ninjatai Gatchaman.    Additionally, he has written adaptation scripts for the last six episodes of Gantz, and is the series writer for the newest adaptation of Super Dimension Fortress Macross, 009-1, Coyote Ragtime Show, Pumpkin Scissors and Kadokawa USA's Full Metal Panic! The Second Raid.    Manley was encouraged to become a voice artist after meeting and receiving encouragement at the 2002 FanimeCon from voice artist Amanda Winn-Lee; voice artist Tiffany Grant and her husband ADV Films president Matt Greenfield.    Manley is also an on-air personality for Houston's Taping For The Blind Radio (now known as Turning Sight Into Sound Radio), currently reading the Houston Chronicle and Sports Illustrated on a weekly basis.

Unlike the other specials, this story takes place in an alternate reality version of 19th century Japan, in "The Grand Jipangu", an alternate version of The Grand Line as opposed to simply being hour-long filler episodes.The story is divided into two halves: in the first, Buggy the Clown makes trouble in the town where Detective Luffy is stationed, and in the second a mysterious girl named Vivi appears. These stories feature cameos from several minor characters in the normal series. Surprisingly the "Oyabun" (Boss) specials did not stop there as five more specials were made following the first one, mostly as Christmas and New Years specials as well as fillers once in awhile.

One Piece Strong World 0 is a one-shot story published in Weekly Shounen Jump as a special prologue chapter to the 10th One Piece movie, Strong World. This one-shot depicts events 20 years before the current timeline of the manga, One Piece. The main focus is the relationship between Shiki, the Golden Lion and Roger, the Pirate King. In addition, it shows what other characters were doing 20 years ago.

"Orb Panic Adventure!" is a special crossover story featuring characters from One Piece, Dragon Ball and Astro Boy. It was created as part of many interactive crossovers screened at special events called Odaiba Boken-Oh to commemorate Fuji TV's 45th anniversary. It has yet to see a home release. In the following year it had a sequel called Kyutai Panic Adventure Returns!

The special will be a completely new work, featuring reanimated scenes from the beginning of the series through when the crew enters the Grand Line. 
 
The special is commemorating the manga's 20th anniversary, and will also feature anime versions of the original manga's chapter cover stories as part of the special's ending credits. The staff haven't yet clarified which cover story or stories will be animated. Additionally, the anime will feature a special 20th anniversary commemoration version of the original opening theme song "We Are!".

A collaboration between Nissin Cup Noodles HUNGRY DAYS campaign x rock group BUMP OF CHICKEN: a full-fledged music video directed by Kyotarou Hayashi for the song Kinen Satsuei by BUMP OF CHICKEN. 
The music video follows the series of One Piece-themed "Hungry Days: Aoharu ka yo." commercials in a what-if world of Luffy's Straw Hat Pirates if they were living as high school students. The theme of the video is about graduation, where the Straw Hat Pirates recollect the days of encounters, farewells, and adolescence through photos taken in their pasts.

The 14th One Piece movie, which commemorates the anime's 20th anniversary, takes place during the Pirates Festival, an epic treasure hunt in which pirates from across the globe race to find an item that once belonged to Gol D. Roger himself!
