Satou Toshiya is one of the main characters of the manga and anime series Major. The main character of the series, Honda Goro, befriends him at 5 years old and teaches him baseball. He was born September 9th and is nicknamed Toshi.  Toshiya is a character that is featured as Goro&#039;s friend and rival through the series through he grows from a five-year-old shy kid into a professional baseball player. He is a serious and intelligent character with a great love for baseball. His position is catcher.

~!When he is abandoned by his parents at the age of 11 and taken in by his grandparents, becoming a professional baseball player becomes his goal, something he starts to chase after ruthlessly. Toshiya has a warm character and he values his friends dearly, he has a high but realistic opinion of Goro. On the field however he has a cold and manipulative personality which puts off his opponents and makes him a very difficult person to play against but as a teammate he is more then reliable.!~

His weak point is his tendency to think too much which causes him to get bouts of depression at times. A tendency that puts him opposite of Goro which is one of the things that makes them such a good battery, when they form one. During the series, Satou Toshiya and Honda Goro are more often opponents then teammates.

Next season of Major. 
After the final game of his Seishuu team against the goal he set himself, Kaidou - the team he left to play against, Gorou has no feelings of remorse anymore. Again he decides to take a step forward and challenge himself. 
Saying one more time good bye to Shimizu and his friends, he leaves for the USA, where he plans on competing in the Minor League. 
This is where Season 4 starts, in a country that`s foreign to him, a baseball style that`s unknown to him and new friends and strong rivals who share the same love to the game as him. Accompany Gorou in his neverending quest for new challenges.

The sixth season begins after the "Baseball World Cup" has ended. Goro regained his passion for baseball in Japan thanks to his friends, and left to join the Hornets baseball team in preperation to the new season. When he arrives in America he starts to celebrate his role as a Major League pitcher at last! Goro's family and friends gathers in groups in Japan to watch Goro's debut in the Major League. However, Goro's debut is the beginning of a line of surprising happenings, that has an outcome no one expected... 

10 years have passed. Following an injury that put Goro's career as a pitcher into a standstill, he prepares to restart his baseball career as a fielder. His family struggles with his decisions; especially his daughter Izumi, who doesn't know enough about her father to understand why he is so absent from their lives. Goro will stop at nothing until he's in the game once again; everything is now for the sake of the only gift he has to offer his children: Baseball.

According to Weekly Shonen Sunday, a new OVA of manga "Major" was announced to be released in December. The World Series chapter, which was skipped in the TV series, will be animated. This OVA will be the final anime of Major.

The story of Major follows the life of Goro Honda, from kindergarten to being a professional baseball player, seeking and overcoming tremendous challenges.

This series picks up a few years after season one. Goro is now older, and has come back to his original home town. As if nothing changed, he starts off right where he left with his old friends and tries to fit back in.

After leaving Kaido in a promise to meet them at the Koshien tournament, Goro comes back to his home town once again in an attempt to join up with his old friends. Only this time, things aren't as easy to get back in the groove of.

Shigeno Daigo is an elementary student whose father, Goro, is a professional baseball player. Inspired by his father, who was once a Major League player, Daigo started playing baseball with the Mifune Dolphins, a youth team. However, he was unable to live up to the expectations of being the son of a professional, and quit baseball after less than a year. Then, in the spring of his sixth-grade year, Daigo's school welcomes a transfer student, Sato Hikaru, whose father is Sato Toshiya, a former Major League player and Goro's close friend.
