A fugitive who is on the run from the police after escaping from prison. He sneaks into Shion's house after being shot. Nezumi gets treated and sheltered by him for a night, then disappears without a trace in the morning.  He hates No.6 and appears to know something about the city that no one seems to know.   

Nezumi is a rude and straightforward person. He has a deep hatred towards No. 6. Though deemed a criminal in the beginning, he seems to be an honorable person.  ~!Which is shown when he saves Shion to repay him for saving himself back when they were 12. He is smart and quick-witted, easily able to defeat 4 officers of the safety bureau and steal their car. It is implied that he created the robot rats in his home which seem to be intelligent enough to follow instructions.  It is revealed in episode 8 that Nezumi is the sole survivor of the forest people. His deep hatred toward No.6 is due to his Forest Home burning down.!~

In a near future world, after the last great war, most of mankind lives in a handful of city states. There, for the privileged elite, life should be perfect. But for young Shion, the only thing perfect has been the nightmare his life has become since letting a strange boy called Rat spend the night in his apartment. 
Banished to the outskirts of the city and stripped of all privileges for helping the mysterious stranger who has since disappeared, Shion now finds himself in even worse danger as his inquiry into a new series of mysterious deaths results in his being arrested on suspicion of murder! 
But even as Shion is being sent to the city's Correctional Institute, the long-missing Rat reappears to rescue him! Now on the run, the two young men have only one chance at survival: uncover the mysterious secrets that lie at the sinister heart of No. 6!

Kalob Martinez has worked as an actor and director for nearly ten years. For Shion, an elite student in the technologically sophisticated city No. 6, life is carefully choreographed. School, study, and the occasional visit with his friend and classmate Safu. One fateful day, however, he takes a misstep, sheltering an injured boy his age from a typhoon. Known only as Rat, this boy is a VC—a fugitive living outside the computerized tapestry of city control—and helping him will throw Shion’s life into chaos and start him down a path to discovering the appalling secrets behind the superficial perfection of No. 6.
