She became an instant celebrity with her role as [Usagi Tsukino](https://anilist.co/character/2030) when [Sailor Moon](https://anilist.co/anime/530) debuted in 1992, and her popularity increased again with her role as [Misato Katsuragi](https://anilist.co/character/1259) in the anime TV series [Neon Genesis Evangelion](https://anilist.co/anime/30). She is considered one of the most influential seiyuu in the business; the animated adaptation of [Ebichu](https://anilist.co/anime/1060/) was largely produced because of her interest in the project, reading the manga out loud between takes of recording lines for Evangelion. Mitsuishi is a freelancer and a former member of the talent management firm Arts Vision.
