Maron is a seemingly ordinary high school student and gifted gymnast. Her alter-ego is Kaito Jeanne, the reincarnation of Jeanne of Arc. Through the angel Finn, she receives a mission from God to seal away demons who have come to Earth to steal the beauty in human hearts. She is a lonely character who hides her feelings behind a warm smile. At a very young age her parents left her for their jobs over seas and have not contacted her since . As a result, she lives alone. She is very close with the family of her best friend and neighbor Miyako. She starts out hating Chiaki when they first meet, but falls in love with him as they become closer and the series progresses. 

A normal looking high school girl on the outside, Kusakabe Maron is actually the reincarnation of Jeanne d' Arc. With the help of the angel, Fin Fish, Maron works as the thief Jeanne at night to seal the demons that reside in pieces of artwork, preying upon the weak hearts of the owners. She is branded as a thief due to the fact that the artworks disappear after she seals the demons. One day, a new neighbor and classmate appears, as well as a rival in her night job, the thief Sinbad. With her own best friend being the detective's daughter, out to capture her and the appearance of her new rival, Maron's work is anything but easy.

Houko Kuwashima is a Japanese voice actress and singer. She is capable of playing a variety of roles, ranging from young boys to feminine women. Kuwashima is currently affiliated with Aoni Production. Her first major role was as Yurika Misumaru in Martian Successor Nadesico.

Mi Sook Jeong, joined KBS Voice Acting Division in 1984. One of her well known voice acting is Kagome Higurashi.  Although unrelated to anime, she played the voice of Reith in the PS2 game, Magna Carta the Tears of Blood.

High school student Maron Kusakabe has a secret: she’s Phantom Thief Jeanne. She sneaks into private art collections to steal paintings in which demons reside. Jeanne’s task is to seal the demons before they can devour human hearts. So far she’s been able to evade the police on her midnight outings, but now another thief has come onto the scene—Phantom Sinbad—and he’s trying to take the paintings before she does!
