Brittney Marie Karbowski is an American voice actress who has voiced in a number of English-language versions of Japanese anime series for ADV Films, Funimation and Sentai Filmworks, most notably, Black Star in Soul Eater. She also voices as Wendy Marvell in Fairy Tail, Mikoto Misaka in A Certain Magical Index and its spinoff, A Certain Scientific Railgun, and Yuri Nakamura in Angel Beats!.

The story centers on Asahi Kashiwagi, a boy who runs into a series of unusual accidents one morning on the way to school — all in accordance with a vague fortune prediction he saw on TV that morning, which culminates with an unfortunate encounter with a girl. Coincidentally, all the people he meets are new students or teachers at his school. Asahi's prior knowledge of the girls earns him the suspicion of Yoshio, a self-proclaimed "friend of Asahi." After school, he finds a love letter in his shoe locker, telling him to come to the cherry blossom tree behind the school, again according to his morning fortune.
