Makoto Naegi, the Ultimate Hope who defeated the Ultimate Despair, Junko Enoshima, is under suspicion of treason against the Future Foundation for harboring the Remnants of Despair who carried on her will. As top members of the Future Foundation, including Makoto's former classmates Kyoko Kirigiri, Aoi Asahina, and Yasuhiro Hagakure, are brought together to decide on Makoto's punishment, they are all imprisoned by Monokuma, who forces everyone to participate in a final killing game. They must try to find the traitor among them who will kill them in their sleep, while also trying to avoid being mortally poisoned by personalised forbidden actions. Thrust into a game where no one can trust each other, Makoto's ideals of hope are pushed to their very limits.

Aya Hirano is a Japanese actress, voice actress, and singer. Beginning in the entertainment industry as a child actor performing in television commercials, she played her first voice acting role in 2001 in the anime television series [Angel Tales](https://anilist.co/anime/682/). She released her first single "Breakthrough" in 2006, and her first album Riot Girl in 2008. She was formerly contracted to Space Craft Produce, a branch of the Space Craft Group, before moving to the talent agency Grick in August 2011. Her label was Lantis until 2011, when she moved to Universal Sigma. On September 1st, 2022, she announced that she was becoming a freelancer.

Komaru Naegi, little sister to Makoto Naegi, has been imprisoned inside a mysterious apartment for over a year. One day, she is rescued by Byakuya Togami of Future Foundation, but the rescue is derailed by a sudden attack of hundreds of Monokumas. Komaru soon discovers that the city has been taken over by a group of children calling themselves the Warriors of Hope. Their leader, Monaca, declares that the city will be the site of a “children's paradise,” and to accomplish this, all the adults will be exterminated. Komaru teams up with Toko Fukawa to try to survive the rampaging Monokumas, escape the crafty Monokuma Kids, and uncover the secrets of the city.

Nagito Komaeda wakes up after experiencing death in the Neo World Program. What kind of world is he seeing and why did he wake up? 

Nagito appears to be in a strange world, including students who have been seen before as well as people who never existed. He is an ordinary boy with no Ultimate Luck, attending an ordinary school. Constrained by being the protagonist, he thinks that having a big talent would interrupt his happiness. He believes that living an ordinary life, being moderately happy, while watching his classmates have a normal youth is what's wonderful. 

However, one day, a boy calling himself "The Destroyer of the World" appears, having the form of red-eyed Hajime Hinata. He begins the destruction of Nagito's world...
