Momo is a third year student from Ooarai Girls High School. She's also the PR manager of her school's student council. She started as the gunner and loader of Turtle Team, and when its Panzer 38(t) was converted into a Hetzer she took her definitive position of loader. Although she looks composed and calm girl, she loses her temper easily and when she's angry and shooting at the same time. Her devotion to the school, and her desire to save it by winning no matter what, had likely brought her to be so vehement. She hates being called "Momo-chan." Momo has 5 younger siblings: four sisters and one brother. 
~!In Das Finale, everyone in Ooarai then learns that Momo's failed her University Admissions Test because she was busy looking for new tanks for Ooarai for the Winter Continuous Track Cup. Momo intends to make Ooarai as one of the cornerstones of the Sensha-dō league, which would prevent any attempt at closing the school in the future. Moved by Momo's effort, all teams then agree to make Momo the Commander so that upon winning the Continuous Cup, she will be able to take AO entrance exams to get into Shimofusadai National University. To accomplish this, Miho Nishizumi also has taken the role of Vice-Commander.!~
~!Also in Das Finale, it is revealed that Momo was responsible for saving several delinquent students from the Naval Studies Department of Ooarai Girls Academy (who eventually become Shark Team) from expulsion.!~

You may have heard of kung fu, but the girls at Oarai High School practice gun-fu—really, really BIG 75mm gun-fu, in fact. It's called Sensha-do, and it's the martial art of operating armored tanks! They take it seriously too, and since winning the national Sensha-do championship is such a huge deal at Oarai, they sometimes go to extreme ends in order to get the best students from Panzer class to sign up. Which is how Miho Nishizumi, who HATES operating tanks, gets drafted to join doomsday-driven driver Mako, even-triggered gunner Hana, highly receptive radio operator Saori and combustible tank-fangirl and loader Yukari as the incomparable Anko Team. They may not be on the half-track to fame and fortune, and maybe a few of them would rather shop for tank tops than become tops in tanks, but once their focus is locked and loaded, they're absolutely driven.

Tankathlon is a new form of tank sport gaining slowly gaining popularity among Senshado enthusiasts. While also involving tank battles, Tankathlon is distinguished by its lack of official oversight allowing any school with tanks to participate in a battle anywhere at any time, and a 10-ton weight restriction on tanks used, limiting battles to light tanks and tankettes.

Side-story taking place between the match against St. Gloriana and the beginning of the Senshadou Nationals. It centers around a training match not shown in the anime, between Ooarai Girls High School and the Maginot Girl's Academy.

In the world, the manipulation of tanks (Sensha-do) is one of the traditional martial arts especially for girls. Miho doesn't like Sensha-do and moves to Oarai Girl's High School. But the chairperson of the student council orders Miho to participate in the national Sensha-do championship.
