Mimasaka Koushirou is the doctor that took care of Kanako after her surgery.   ~! Kyogokudou said that Profesor Mimasaka was a scientist who had been doing experiments during the Second World War. He wanted to create a 'mechanical human' in order to make Japan succeed in the war. But, because it cost too much money, he finally was not able to do it.  It is revealed that his wife was Mimasaka Kinuko, the mother of Yuzuki Youko. Kinuko, even thought professor Mimasaka took care of her, wanted to get a divorced. Then Youko, who was in love with her father, tempted him and they had a daughter: Yuzuki Kanako, although this was never told to her, to avoid her from suffering.   Also that giant box with machines around it was the mechanical human that Mimasaka made. A human´s head was put into a box and them all the other building did the rest of the functions that are normally done by a human body.  First Kanako was put there after the accident, and Mimasaka having cut both her arms and legs (even thought Youko didn´t want to) put her into the box and gave it to a worker so that he transferred it to another place. But Amemiya san found it, killed the worker and took Kanako away.  After that Kubo Shunko having killed lots of girls trying to do the same Mimasaka did, but failed. So, he went to Mimasaka´s box and asked him to put him inside there. Thought to him being in a good physical state the experiment came out well.   At the end, when escaping with Youko and Kubo (in the box) Mimasaka was killed. Kubo came out of the box and bit him until death, which caused Youko to cut his neck and died.!~

Between August and October, 1952, a series of unusual crimes takes place in Musashino and Mitaka: the attempted murder of 14-year-old Kanako Yuzuki, Kanako's abduction from the strange research "hospital" where she was recovering, then abductions of other girls, followed by their severed limbs in custom-fitted boxes being placed in surrounding towns. News editor Morihiko Toriguchi and crime fiction writer Tatsumi Sekiguchi investigate with the help of onmyōji Akihiko Chūzenji. Meanwhile, Tōkyō police detective Shutaro Kiba searches for Kanako, despite Kanagawa police having jurisdiction; and the lawyer for the estate of Kanako's grandfather hires private investigator Reijiro Enokizu to find Kanako, as well. Their investigation uncovers bizarre truths and dark family secrets along the way.

Manga adaptation of the second novel in Kyougoku Natsuhiko's award-winning Kyougokudou Series.
 
Right after the war, Showa era in Japan. Kusumoto Yoriko and Yuzuki Kanako who attend an all girls school plan to take the last train to go to the lake. However, Kanako ends up getting run over by the train. Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department's Detective Kiba who happened to be there when it happened, is asked to watch the confused Yoriko. Kiba goes with the worried Yoriko to the hospital Kanako is taken to, and there Kiba meets a woman who calls herself Kanako's sister; Yuzuki Youko. That happened to be the actress Kiba had been admiring, Minami Kinuko.
