The main character. He is a high school (middle school in the manga) student, son of a globe trotting archeologist father. Because his father and older sister travel and his mother is deceased (in the manga she is merely absent) he lives alone in his two story home at the beginning of the story. He is decisive and intelligent, but nonetheless beleaguered and is a similar character to Keiichi Morisato in both personality and situation. He has a crush on Shaorin just after he first meets her and his feelings for her develop even more throughout the series.

In the peaceful life of modern Japan, Shaorin and Tasuke explore their relationship amid familiar interventions and new challenges. Shaorin begins to discover why she chose to stay with Tasuke, and Tasuke begins to learn the depth of his love toward Shaorin.

Tasuke Shichiri is the envy of his friends because since his parents are always traveling he can do as he pleases. It's a surprise present from his father that keeps him from being lonely: an odd ring known as the shitenrin. From it comes a moon goddess named Shaorin, dedicated to protecting her "master" -- no matter how much of a mess she makes doing it!

14-year old Shichiri Tasuke is your ordinary junior high school student- well, sort of. His life is a little lonely, since his family has left him alone at home while they go travel the world over, only occasionally sending letters and postcards. 
This lonely and uneventful life is shaken up the day Tasuke receives the magical Shitenrin ring from his father in China. From out of this ring appears Shao Lin, the Guardian Angel Getten. She proclaims that she is here to protect her new master from all forms of danger and will stay by his side forever. 
But having been locked in the Shitenrin for hundreds of hears, Shao knows nothing on the modern world. Sometimes it seems she causes MORE problems than she solves. Now, Tasuke must learn how to handle this beautiful, naive and magical angel.
