Leader of the Combatrons, a ruthless and no-nonsense - albeit short-tempered and megalomaniac - field commander serving as Gigatron's second-in-command.

Originally a Cybertron warrior sent to Earth to help reactivate Brave Maximus, following a crash-landing him and his crew would revert to protoforms and enter stasis, remaining in this state until their discovery and subsequent awakening by Gigatron, who allowed them to adapt new identities by scanning new alternate modes. In Black Convoy's case, his intended alternate mode was a tanker truck - however, due to an accident, his stasis pod would also scan Fire Convoy himself, resulting in him strongly resembling the Cybertron leader and resenting him from this point onward.

In the Legends manga, he gains an assistant in the form of [Dark Ai](https://anilist.co/character/322551/Dark-Ai), who sometimes acts as his voice of reason.

Note: In the US adaptation of *Car Robots*, he was renamed to **Scourge**.

An evil race of transforming robots known as the Destronger make their appearance known by invading a world exposition in New York and abducting Professor Onishi, a renowned scientist. The professor's son Yuuki befriends Fire Convoy and the heroic Cybertron forces, who will stop at nothing to rescue the professor and protect Earth from the wrath of Gigatron and his Destron henchmen.

Barry Alan Stigler was an American voice actor. In his anime voice work, he often used the pseudonym Gil Starberry, which is an anagram of his name. Little is known about his personal life, including his cause of death.

Starting off as 4koma and published online to promote the titular Transformers Legends toyline, with special Bonus Edition (出張版 Shutchōban) chapters of the comic packed with the toys themselves, it Initially showcased the misadventures of the Beast Wars cast re-imagined as adult Transformers fans, before eventually taking a more story-driven approach and attempting to connect all the entries of the Japanese Generation 1 anime and manga continuity into one storyline. 

Heavily marketed towards adult collectors and otaku in the face of the brand's dwindling popularity with children after TakaraTomy's largely unsuccessful first attempt in the mid-2000s, it attempted to change the image of the Transformers franchise, with much more "adult", often ecchi-filled humour and numerous references to fan culture.
 
Ulltimately concluded when TakaraTomy began a brand unification with Hasbro starting with Power of the Primes, deciding to mainly sell Hasbro toys as is with minimal changes to packaging.
