Carue, also spelled &quot;Karoo&quot;, is Vivi&#039;s pet spot-billed duck, a fast-footed riding bird (one of the fastest modes of transportation available in Arabasta).    His role during Vivi&#039;s time with the Straw Hat Pirates is mostly that of comic relief, although he does relay valuable information to Chopper from time to time, helps Luffy and Usopp to defeat the Baroque Works agents in Little Garden and saves Vivi from Mr. 2 Bon Kurei in Arabasta. He is the center of several jokes in the Arabasta arc, at one point being used as bait for fishing by Luffy and Usopp to Vivi&#039;s anger and chagrin, and he is mistaken for an ostrich by Sanji. He is the leader of the Super Spot-Billed Duck Squad in Arabasta.

An American voice actress, ADR director, and script writer affiliated with Funimation and Seraphim Digital/Sentai Filmworks.

Monica's father is from Pontevedra, Galicia, Spain, and when she was young, her family would often visit there. She would translate for her younger brother some of the European Spanish-dubbed cartoons which included anime like Doraemon and Dragon Ball Z, often imitating the various characters. Monica studied ballet, tap, and jazz, but transitioned to musical theater when was 12. She studied acting through high school as well as college at the University of Houston. She's cited voice actor inspirations from The Simpsons, Family Guy, and Beavis and Butt-head. She was working on a theater show with Jason Douglas, who suggested she audition for ADV Films. Her first voice-over role was a walla in the 1999 dub of Martian Successor Nadesico.
