Sweet and na&iuml;ve Hanato Kobato came to Earth on a mission to collect and fill a bottle with 'konpeito,' which appear after healing a person's heart that is suffering. Kobato collects these because it is her wish to go to a certain place. Despite her strangeness, Kobato turns out to be well-suited for this mission as her heartfelt sincerity in helping others earns her the love and admiration of everyone she meets. However, she is not allowed to fall in love with anyone whose heart she heals.<br><br>

Born of a Japanese father and a Filipino mother, Megumi was brought up in a "house filled with music" and grew up with the desire to sing.  In 2003, she participated in the "Self Stardust Promotion" contest and passed, thereby affiliating her to the agency. In 2007, she auditioned to the Victor Entertainment sanctioned "Victor Vocal & Voice Audition" and won the role to voice Ranka Lee in Macross Frontier. Meet Kobato Hanato, a sweet and rather simple young girl on a quest to have her single, dearest wish granted. But first, she must learn the ways of the world from Ioryogi-san, a gruff blue dog whose bark is just as bad as his bite! Under his “tutelage” (read: constant verbal abuse), Kobato puts her efforts into passing various trials of common sense so that she may obtain the key to getting her wish—a magic bottle which must be filled with the suffering of wounded hearts that Kobato herself has healed.
