Not much is known about Ryūji, but he appears to be a diligent student who behaves seriously and he is a very helpful person as shown when he aided Honami Ichinose in the case of Ken Sudō. He is a friendly person as he does not look down on D-Class and gets along with them.

Koudo Ikusei Senior High School is a leading school with state-of-the-art facilities. The students there have the freedom to wear any hairstyle and bring any personal effects they desire. Koudo Ikusei is like a utopia, but the truth is that only the most superior students receive favorable treatment. 

Kiyotaka Ayanokouji is a student of D-class, which is where the school dumps its "inferior" students in order to ridicule them. For a certain reason, Kiyotaka was careless on his entrance examination, and was put in D-class. After meeting Suzune Horikita and Kikyou Kushida, two other students in his class, Kiyotaka's situation begins to change.

After completing the "End-of-Year Special Exam" of their second year, Horikita and her former 1st-year Class D classmates now enter their 3rd year in Class A. However, the biggest contributor to their success, Ayanokōji Kiyotaka, ended up transferring to another class.

The students of Horikita's class are thrown into confusion and chaos, but there is one cruel truth they must face: unless they defeat 'Ayanokōji Kiyotaka,' they cannot graduate as Class A.

As Ryūen and Class B show signs of growth, and new connections form between Ayanokōji's Class C and Ichinose's Class D, the first special exam of the third year, the "Comprehensive Academic Ability Test: Overall and Minority Battle" is announced!
