Alex is Taihei's co-worker and Sylphynford's older brother. He enjoys playing video games. He also loves anime, just like Umaru, but secretly he seems to know the connection between Komaru and Umaru. He loves his sister Sylphynford.


High-school beauty Umaru seems like the perfect teen wunderkind, but she's hiding a shocking double life. As soon as she gets home, she becomes a junk-food-inhaling, soda-guzzling, video-game-addicted slob. The only one who sees this unsavory side of Umaru is her beleaguered older brother Taihei, who does his best to keep up with his work while trying to get his little sister to behave like a decent member of society. Commonly referred to as Kakkii by fans, Kakihara is a voice actor and a singer. As the latter, he is a member of Kiramune (music label) and represents the color of green. He was inspired to become a voice actor by [Yuuji Ueda](https://anilist.co/staff/95058/Yuuji-Ueda)'s performance in the Tokimeki Memorial dating sim game, and moved from Germany to Japan at age 18 to pursue his dream.

Kakihara speaks Japanese, English and German.
