He is one of the five members and the leader of the new rendition of 'Shounen Hollywood'. Before becoming a member of the group he used to be a delinquent, who dropped out of high school. Despite his former delinquent past he is far from stern and bad-natured. Ikuma likes to laze around and is quite the funny guy. Furthermore he has a hard time learning the dances the group is supposed to learn. He is greatly obsessed with 'Cat' (Hollywood Tokyo Theater's own pet owl) and wants to carry him on his shoulders at least once. His life motto is 'Rome wasn't built in a day'.

Commonly referred to as Kakkii by fans, Kakihara is a voice actor and a singer. As the latter, he is a member of Kiramune (music label) and represents the color of green. He was inspired to become a voice actor by [Yuuji Ueda](https://anilist.co/staff/95058/Yuuji-Ueda)'s performance in the Tokimeki Memorial dating sim game, and moved from Germany to Japan at age 18 to pursue his dream.

Kakihara speaks Japanese, English and German.

The anime will tell an original story set 15 years after the novel's story. It takes place at a fictional theater called Hollywood Tokyo in Harajuku, where members of the idol group "Shonen Hollywood" develop their talents with diligent work and studying.
