Yuuko Yoshida is a demon whose power is suddenly awakened in her first year of high school; aims to overthrow the magical girl in town to break her family's spell. However, although she has the ability to sneak into others' dreams, her physical strength and stamina are much weaker than the ones of her rival, the magical girl [Momo Chiyoda](https://anilist.co/character/141457).

When Yuuko Yoshida wakes up one morning to discover that she’s sprouted horns and a tail, she learns something that her mother has been meaning to tell her. You know that battle between the Light and Dark that’s been going on since the dawn of time? Well, Yuuko’s family are the bad guys. 
 
So now, Yuuko has to defeat a local magical girl to win back some of her family’s vanquished power so they can afford to go to the all-you-can-eat pancake restaurant. And, of course, it turns out that the Magical Girl goes to Yuuko’s school, but Momo’s really nice and keeps rescuing Yuuko, which is pretty embarrassing and leaves Yuuko rather conflicted… but… all you can eat pancakes?

An American voice actress, ADR director, and script writer affiliated with Funimation and Seraphim Digital/Sentai Filmworks.

Monica's father is from Pontevedra, Galicia, Spain, and when she was young, her family would often visit there. She would translate for her younger brother some of the European Spanish-dubbed cartoons which included anime like Doraemon and Dragon Ball Z, often imitating the various characters. Monica studied ballet, tap, and jazz, but transitioned to musical theater when was 12. She studied acting through high school as well as college at the University of Houston. She's cited voice actor inspirations from The Simpsons, Family Guy, and Beavis and Butt-head. She was working on a theater show with Jason Douglas, who suggested she audition for ADV Films. Her first voice-over role was a walla in the 1999 dub of Martian Successor Nadesico.

Yoshida Yuko was living a perfectly normal (if poverty-stricken) life, but at the age of fifteen, she suddenly sprouts demon horns and a tail! Her mother explains that she's actually a demon named Shadow Mistress Yuko, once sealed away and cursed so that her family would remain poor for generations. Now Yuko can break that very curse if she defeats Chiyoda Momo, a magical girl who goes to her school…but Momo is stronger than she is, knows how to manage magical powers, and is so freaking nice that she's actually helping Yuko out of scrapes. Yuko's too weak and uncoordinated to straight-up kill Momo, even if she wanted to, but she can't just be buddies with this generous magical girl, either–she has to break the curse on her family somehow. What's a demon girl to do?
