The ace of Aobanishi High School's judo club. Her weight class is 52kg. She entered Aobanishi High School, the same school as Michi, after rejecting a recommendation for a private high school, because of a match with Michi in junior high school. Hiura is a mainstay of Aonishi, recognized by both club members and Natsume, and although her body is thin, she is physically strong. She is usually reserved and reticent, but when she puts on her judo uniform, Hiura's expression tightens up like a different person.

After performing in their final middle school judo tournament, Michi and Sanae begin high school and walk in on Michi's final opponent fighting to save their new high school's judo club.

After one last tournament and an embarrassing loss in the final round, Michi decides to call it quits on the sport of judo. Between high school social activities and entrance exams, she’ll have no time to compete in the martial art she loves most, but putting aside old hobbies is a normal part of growing up. Still, the love of judo lingers—and it comes back full force when she meets her new classmate Towa, the girl who bested Michi in her final match! Towa wants to form a judo club at their school, but she’ll need new members to get it up and running.
