The second season of NieR:Automata Ver1.1a. 

The year 11954. YoRHa Soldiers 2B and 9S are newly dispatched to Earth to carry out and support the 243rd Descent Operation. There, they succeed in destroying the machine lifeform core units, Adam and Eve. With the annihilation of these enemies, the Army of Humanity takes this chance to end this long-lasting war and decides on an all-out attack against the machine lifeforms. This is a record of the battles and hopes of Androids and the fate which dictates them all… 

As war rages on, Unit 2B and others like her question their role. Reclaiming the planet will take sacrifice, but how much more can they give and is humanity worth the cost?

In turn, humanity deploys anew unit of android soldiers as an ultimate weapon: ＜YoRHa＞ 
Newly dispatched to Earth ＜2B＞ joins＜9S＞, the analyst currently stationed there, where amid their mission, they encounter a myriad of mysterious phenomena... 

This is the story of these lifeless ＜androids＞ and their endless fight for the sake of mankind.

The distant future. Invaders from another world attack without warning, unleashing a new type of threat: weapons known as "machine lifeforms." In the face of this insurmountable threat, mankind is driven from Earth and takes refuge on the Moon.
 
It is the year 11941, and the long war against the machines rages on. In an attempt to break the deadlock, the Council of Humanity forms a new infantry unit of female androids: YoRHa. Deployed to the planet’s surface, these soldiers now fight to recapture Earth for the glory of mankind…
